I'm Sew Excited!
No, I didn't spell that incorrectly. That's right, I got my sewing machine! My goal was $200, but my mom alerted me of a deal that ended Monday at Target. This Brother XL3750 sewing machine was on price cut for $99.99. It had all the features I wanted and seemed to be a pretty good machine. So, I bought it. I haven't used it yet, but I'm crossing my fingers that it won't break on me and it'll be a good machine for a while. I'm so happy!
Now my next goal is to get a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. Oh yeah, that's right - the mother of all Stand-mixers. Isn't she beautiful? I'm either going to get the Artisan or a higher model. My goal will be to save up $300. I'll keep my eye out for a deal though! I'll keep you updated on my $ making progress in posts and in the top right hand box on my blog.
I'm starting with $106.13. That's $11.13 left over from my paypal account (from e-baying) after buying the sewing machine and $95 left over from the $125 I made from the focus group. So, that's only $193.87 to go and 35% of my goal!
Are you saving for anything? Do you have any more ideas on how to make money????

Great Focus Group Today!
Vocalpoint came to Louisville to hold a focus group and I was selected as one of the participants. It was pretty fun. I met a lot of great women, many of them that had their own frugal blogs! Someone wrote down everyone's e-mail address, so hopefully we can stay in touch. (If any of you lovely women read this...please leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.) Anyway, it was only 2 and a half hours and I made $125! Awesome.
Besides holding focus groups, they send you free stuff and coupons. It's so worth it! Click here to learn more and to sign up.
Happy Monday!

I love going to yard sales, but this coming weekend I will not be able to go. Why? Because I'm having my own yardsale with at least 5 other friends. A very talented one created this flyer. Isn't it cool!
If you're in Louisville, you should come and say hello! (and buy stuff!) I oh so hope I make a lot of money. It will go towards my sewing machine fund! Any suggestions?

Earn Points & Redeem for Prizes!
A super easy way to get free stuff is to sign up for swagbucks. All you do is use the site as your search engine and randomly as you do searchs you win swagbucks. You can go to the website to do the searches or download a search tool bar to your browser. I usually just go to the website. Rack up the swagbucks and redeem them for prizes. My favorite thing is that you can redeem swagbucks for gift cards!
Please use the link on the above swagbucks picture or click here to sign up because I get referral swagbucks! I would be appreciative. Good luck and happy searching!

E-bay/Sewing Machine Update
I've been doing pretty well with selling stuff on e-bay. I just sold a hiking backpack infant carrier that gave me a huge boost. I'm at 62% of my $200 goal! I've only been at it about a month, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I know there are a lot of you out there that want to sell stuff on e-bay, but keep putting it off because you've don't know how and are a little intimidated by it. Don't be. It's very easy and they lead you along step by step. Just do it, you'll be happy you did.

Saturday Yardsale Finds
My sister, sister-in-law, myself, and my 2 month old baby girl went yardsaling today. (I have to bring her as she's pretty much attatched to me for food!) We had a great day. I found 4 things for gifts that I can't post in case the receiver reads this post. Here are the things I found for myself.
This is a piece of Louisville Stoneware. It's a little pitcher with the recipe for a mint julep. Totally Kentucky chic! I'm sure this thing is worth about $50 new. I paid $10. Steep for a yardsale, but I love it!
I found this adorable MA Hadley Pottery lucheon size plate with an adorable pig on it. MA Hadley Pottery is another Louisville local pottery company. I'm sure it's worth at least $20, if not more. I paid $0.75! So country chic!
It must be a pottery day! I found this great piece to hold my cooking utensils. (Ignore the mess in the kitchen, please!) It's much better than the one decorated with chickens that I'd been using since we've been married-8 years! It's pretty simple, but that's what I like about it.

I've Been Chosen!
I've been chosen as a host for a Domino's American Legends House Party! I'm so excited. I get a $75 giftcard to order pizza for a party! Yay! I set up my party site: http://www.houseparty.com/party/143070
I can't wait! Did anyone else sign up to do this? Does anyone in Louisville want to come?

A Few Deals at the Mall - Old Navy and The Disney Store
Just got back from the mall today and thought I'd share a few things with you.
First the Disney Store has it's kids flip flops and sun glasses for $2.99. Great deal! They also had some other deals on their summer items.
Second, Old Navy is selling their adult graphic tees for $3 tomorrow, Saturday, May 30 ONLY! If it's anything like their $1 flip flop sale, I'm not going! :) Anyway, when I bought my purchases today, a coupon spit out to fill out a survey and get 10% off my next purchase! They gave me a coloring page (some sort of contest for kids to design flip flips) and on the bottom of it was a coupon for 20% off an adult women's and child's item. Might be a good deal? Oh and they are doing a 50% off of their already marked clearance!
I'll be yardsaling tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!!
